Welcome to History 20! Our goal this year is to develop skills such as dialectical thinking and developing empathy and critical thinking when looking at past societies. We will develop these skills through the Big 6 Historical Thinking Concepts. These skills will enable students to understand information, research and write about issues in creative and meaningful ways, and debate and evaluate past and current issues.

We will be covering the following topics as per the Saskatchewan curricular foundational objectives:
Unit 1: Historical Thinking Skills Unit 2: Death of the Old Order – an in-depth study of the First World War Unit 3: The Totalitarian State – events leading up to and including the Second World War Unit 4: National Sovereignty and Collective Security – issues in a post war world Unit 5: Self-Determination and the Superpowers – the Cold War Unit 6: Global issues – Current events*
Current Events Each student will present two current events throughout the semester and create a discussion amongst their peers.*See Current Events Page
